PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST

Documents Required

	BOTH parts of your provisional licence (photo-card and paper counter document).
	If you have the old type paper licence, you will also have to bring a valid passport. No other form of photo identification will be accepted.
	Booking form or reference number.
	Theory Test pass certificate.

The Eyesight Check

You will be required to read a vehicle registration number plate at a distance of approximately 20.5 metres. Failure to read the number plate at the required distance will result in no test being conducted; your test fee will also be forfeited.

Show Me Tell Me

You will be required to carry out basic safety checks on the vehicle. There are 2 questions to answer correctly.

Practical Driving Test

This part of the driving test is approximately 35-40 minutes in length. It requires the candidate to show that they have the ability to drive on various types of roads and in different conditions. The candidate will be required to perform one slow reversing manoeuvres, they may also be asked to perform an emergency stop. The candidate will also be required to drive independently for approximately 10 minutes by either following road signs or diagram. To be successful you must not commit more than 15 minor driving faults and no serious or dangerous driving faults.
