Last summer, my sketching friend Sharon and I, on deliberating where to go, took a short walk down to the river that runs through Dumfries town!
We shifted some discarded cans out the way and sat on the steps in the shade.

Some of my favourite things to draw are plants/ grasses against a sky. As we were hunkered down, the view was definitely pleasing!

It was an enjoyable hour or two, only interrupted by the odd angler asking if we’d seen any fish (we had) and a good citizen collecting littering cans!

On returning home, I felt inspired to progress my sketches – and enjoyed getting a bit lost in the vegetative imagery!

This was another occasion where my consciousness seemed to shift into sleep mode!

What transpired left me feeling glad. I would love for this to be a regular occurrence!
